Job update

Hello, dear readers!

I’m so excited to share that I’ve joined The Atlantic as a staff writer, covering Congress and national politics. What a dream, right? I’m so excited to get started. Please do send story ideas my way!

All of which means, of course, that after a year and eight months, I’ll be bidding Washingtonian adieu. The magazine made me a better writer, thinker, and person. Everyone should be so lucky to learn the craft from Mike Schaffer, Kristen Hinman, Andrew Beaujon, and Rob Brunner. They are as good as it gets.

They’re on the hunt now for a full-time staff writer. You can apply here, and I hope you will—it was the best decision I ever made.

That’s it for now. Hope y’all are having the loveliest start to the new year, and that the holidays were filled with love and family and all things cozy. Oh, and Roll Tide! 🙂

Yours, as ever,
Elaina

P.S. The photo is from Tangier Island. I snapped it around dusk back in October—three months later, it still makes me swoon. Some others I took, now that I’m on the subject—that bright spot in the third one is Venus!
